Beyond the newly built one – and two-bedroom apartments in the wonderful Southwood neighborhood, our residents have access to a wide range of services and activities designed to support their independence and well-being.
These include community dining, a calendar of social events, opportunities for continuing education, personal development, and vocational growth. There are also recreational programs that promote healthy lifestyles, nutritious meals, and opportunities for physical activity. In addition, residents engage with neighbors, friends, and local civic organizations, all with the aim of fostering fulfilling, meaningful lives and enhancing happiness and independence. Most of all, they have the opportunity to choose what makes them happy.
Independence Landing is managed by Royal American Management, Inc. (RAM) and all on-site services and activities are provided by Specialized Supports, Inc. (SS).
In partnership with SS and RAM, Independence Landing provides the opportunity for individuals with a wide range of abilities to live independently along with offering a variety of social and recreational activities, family education and support, community services referrals and guidance, optional meals, and a community in which to belong.
Rent is paid for by residents and their families along with a monthly activity fee that covers social and vocational activities and programming for the residents.
All residents are required to secure approved supported living services (via the Medicaid Waiver or SS Service Package) at time of lease signing. All residents must maintain these approved services at all times while living at Independence Landing.
